As we discussed in our article from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam has to choose a given area lodging, one that extends into the new part of town. Hotels of international chains such as Melia, Sofitel and Hilton, as in this case, offering their hotel beds, the most elite of the city. The advantage is that the area has an ideal communication in the city center, while easy access to cultural offerings - theaters and the Hanoi Opera - and gourmet-playful - major hotels and restaurants - the city.

The Hilton Opera, framed in front of the Hanoi Opera, is certainly a hotel, either business or tourism. Unlike the Sofitel Metropole Hotel, a marked influence of colonial rule, the Hilton Hotel Opera is a more speaking honorably. This is a new hotel, with facilities that appreciates what his recent material, but lacks appeal.

The facilities are rather scarce, stressing only the gym and outdoor pool contained herein. Will miss fewer sports facilities and a spa, though, whether it is not another one like it is very common in Hanoi.

As for culinary options does not have a great variety - Vietnamese and international cuisine basically - but with a good bar food internationally, in the lobby of the hotel, perhaps the most salvable within it, both to take an aperitif, a quick lunch or dinner or a drink at the last minute.

The rooms, at different ranges and prices differ in size and performance, while our advice is to book a room overlooking the indoor gardens, a great calm.

In our stay we opted for a deluxe suite with a view to the Hanoi Opera House. In a stay, after a small lobby, the room was of normal size, with a normal bathroom, dressing rooms with built-in and a really comfortable bed.

The breakfast buffet, normally included in the fare, quite normal for the standards that they can show off at a hotel in style.

Finally, with regard to tariffs, they range from 250 dollars in the most simple rooms to $ 500 of the most expensive, prices vary depending on the season in which they visit the city.

Conclusion:

The Hilton Hotel is one of the options for accommodation in Hanoi, although there are better options in the city and in the area, in different styles and with better benefits.

Hanoi on Christmas Day

Christmas in Hanoi

Hanoi, December 21, 2008.

For most Vietnamese Christmas has no religious significance. Nevertheless, the trend of recent years. Shopping malls, supermarkets, shops and hotels are already decorated Christmas for weeks. It is my opinion, often the boundary of good taste exceeded. Overall taste is of course excellent fight and now Asians love kitsch times in all variations. That is why a few photos from the weekend, recorded in the Trang Tien Plaza and the streets of the Old Town.

Shortly before the festival has also coolness' Christmas' weather set. Today, we had no more 20 degrees. Toward the end of the week, but again a little heat are.

Christmas is not an official holiday. Therefore, we will on these days in university and school. Next week, but I Phuong and free. Actually, we wanted to on Saturday after Thai Binh drive and a very quiet New Year's Eve to spend. Probably we will but the descent on Monday or Tuesday to move, because after the withdrawal of the Vietnamese national team in the finals of AFF Cup on Sunday, there is the big game against Thailand. The most favourite sport of Vietnamese people is football, and the national team is their pride because they won in the match with Singapore, the lion of Asia and could be go on the final match. I wish that Vietnam will win in the match with Thai Lan next week. And now… I have to prepare some giflts for my friends on Christmas Day.

Hanoi-The Capital Of Vietnam

Hanoi in my mind

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam. It is considered as the most peaceful city in the world and is the pride of Vietnamese people. There are more and more green space in this city. Hanoi lies on the shores of the Red River (Song Hong) and is in 4 counties subdivided. The Center Hoan Kiem, with a beautiful old town, west of the Ba Dinh District, south of the poorest district of Hai BaTrung and further south of Ba Dinh is the fourth Dong Da district. The Orientation is a result of numerous lakes relatively simple. The traffic consists mainly of many thousands of moped riders. For a Europeans, it is difficult to see after what traffic rules ever driven will. Many locals know it's true - probably not.

At the heart of the city is clearly the name Ho Chi Minh. 'Uncle Ho' is a hero celebrated and many memorials recall it. The mausoleum, a museum, the house Ho Chi Minh, near the presidential palace and some monuments are popular targets. The Hoan Kiem Lake near the old town is around the center of the city. Early in the morning, many come to this lake and operate Thai Cuc Quyen(shadow boxing) or other types of physical education.

Water puppetry is an ancient art and daily in urban water Dolls theater listed. These are the acts water on the stage just as important as the music, which always live by an orchestra is playing. The visit is worthwhile and is very interesting. The shops in the streets have evolved over time formed. There are streets in which only moped parts of each store sells will. Other streets sell only electrical articles or crafts etc. If we once found the right road, then the choice is huge.

The Ho Chi Minh Museum consists of two sections: past and future. At a visit but it is amazed. The Presentation is very modern and artistically. Multimedia is also a concept. You can find the huge concrete pad next to the Mausoleum. If you're looking for art objects is that it is abundantly found in Hanoi.

However, it is not always favorable. Some items are from other regions Vietnam and bought over 100% or more resold. Who underway on a route discovered something should be equal to buy.
